Episode 7: Friend or Foe | Squid Game
After the 'Special Game' in episode 6 player 456 Gi-hun started his new plan. And as we know planning is not a strong skill of Gi-hun. Yet a lot of the players trust him and follow his advise. They make a plan to take over the control room of the Front Man. It seems that player 456 is making the same mistake he made in season 1, and that is trusting player 001 a bit too soon and too much. You will really wonder what he did those 3 years. For the sake of the story his plan does fit in the plot, even if it seems unrealistic and a bit of a stretch.
Plan D
A lot of the main characters acted really good in this episode. Player 388 surprised me with his story. In the end I did thought he was gonna give up, but I did not imagine he would do it this way. He did kind of save player 120 in the end, at least we hope so. The most surprising part in this episode is that player 456 till the end did not notice that player 001 was not his friend but his foe. I am a bit disappointed in him. I mean.. how could you be there to make an end to the Squid Games, but are not alert after player 001 deceived you in 'the first season' playing the game. I do hope he has a better Plan E.. Or will it know be Plan F?

Everyone takes a role
We can see everyone taking on the role that fits their character in the series. The most surprising character that is written in this episode is that of player 120. The actor played the character really well. You can see how he balances his actions and acting. He sold the character really good. I would never have known he was not really the vision of the character in real life. I do understand the backlash the creators got for not casting a person with the same physical appearance. I also understand the statement of the makers that there is not a big community in Korea that would openly act this role. I don't know if that's true, but this actor (Park Sung-hoon) did a good job.

Side story
The side story got a little bit more thrilling. It was so obvious that the captain of the ship, the man who saved the little brother of the Front Man, was not to be trusted. In this episode it is revealed who is leaking al the information to the Front Man, and makes sure he is always one step ahead of Hwang Jun-ho. They all have a feeling that there is a rat, but they don't know who it is. In this episode we can see the captain killing one of the soldiers who found out the truth. We can see the creditors friend arriving at the scene, not knowing what happend and that the captain is the mol. This part of the story also seems incomplete to call this episode the end of a season. The makers could have made a few episodes more to complete this part of the story, and then make a new connecting angle for season 3. This also feels like a season break.

THE FRONT MAN IS BACK!
The end scene of this episode also marks the end of the season. The Front Man is done playing games and takes on his role again. This does not go without a few close bloodsheds. We also see player 246 coming to a possible end. This episode feels incomplete. It looks like the creators of the serie are just finishing the series in a rush. It could better be called a cliff-hanger for the season break, which will continu in the new year. They could have let us wait 1 year more for a new season, rather dan just random calling this the end of season 2.

RESULT
After the special game the results are 100 player minus 5 players = 95 players left
That's 36.100.000.000 Won in the Big Piggy
Around 380.000.000 Won for each player
That's approx € 247.738,- | ﹩2.75.000,- | 79.449 ك
In the next season we might know what the end result is after Plan D of player 456
Do you feel this season is incomplete?
Do we need more episodes or is this enough?
